What??? Nooooo! Seriously, noooo! Damn you, Kelley McNeil for that ending! 😩😭Still, Mayluna is a heartbreakingly-beautiful love story。 It has Daisy Jones vibes all the way and I was instantly hooked。 I was just not expecting for that end! It’s in tears and also daggers in my eyes (because WTF Kelley McNeil!!!😭) that I give Mayluna 5 stars。

This novel took hold of me from the very beginning and refused to let go even after I finished it。 I found the book one of the most moving love stories I have ever read, with an outcome that broke my heart。 McNeil's insight and information about the music business heightened the effect of the narrative。 The use of scientific epigraphs to introduce each section and their significance to the narrative also captured me。 It's not often that I feel compelled to praise a work effusively, but Mayluna t This novel took hold of me from the very beginning and refused to let go even after I finished it。 I found the book one of the most moving love stories I have ever read, with an outcome that broke my heart。 McNeil's insight and information about the music business heightened the effect of the narrative。 The use of scientific epigraphs to introduce each section and their significance to the narrative also captured me。 It's not often that I feel compelled to praise a work effusively, but Mayluna ticked off all my boxes - plot, characters, emotional content, pacing。 I think I have to read it again, if my heart can stand it。 。。。more

Julia,
It started a bit slow at first but it all comes together perfectly。 I loved Evie and Carter so much。 This story is the perfect representation that you have to fight for true love, eventhough the circumstances aren‘t ideal。 It‘ll be worth it。 But it also shows that the love of your life isn‘t always mutual and you should be grateful when it is。 I need time to process and heal from it。 It was so good。

Mayluna by Kelly McNeilEvie’s adult children think she’s a boring middle aged woman until she starts to tell them the story of her twenties and her connection with the megastars of British rock band Mayluna。 Are they ready to hear secrets that have been long buried?Oh my goodness, this book! This story had me going through all the emotions。 By the end I was sobbing。 To have a love like that no matter how short or long is indeed very lucky。 What I think I loved most about this story was the way it caused great emotions and feelings with the reader (or at least I’d did for me)。 There were times where I was so mad and so frustrated with the main character Evie and other moments of jealousy, love, desire, fear and loneliness。 I don’t want to spoil anything but I will say that it was hea This story had me going through all the emotions。 By the end I was sobbing。 To have a love like that no matter how short or long is indeed very lucky。 What I think I loved most about this story was the way it caused great emotions and feelings with the reader (or at least I’d did for me)。 There were times where I was so mad and so frustrated with the main character Evie and other moments of jealousy, love, desire, fear and loneliness。 I don’t want to spoil anything but I will say that it was heart wrenching, beautiful, and so powerful。 。。。more

This is one of the best books I've read in a very long time! How did I miss this on amazon first reads you ask? IDK but it's worth every penny I spent one-clicking this gem。 This beautifully tragic story is not going to be for everyone but this is my jam and the book hangover I have is so worth it。 I laughed, I cried, I had heart palpitations! It gave me all the feels and I could not put this down, literally。 Evie and Carter totally swept me away。 This is one of the best books I've read in a very long time! Beautiful story that, in the last few chapters, comes together nicely。 However, be prepared for various levels of sorrow in the beginning, the middle, and the end。 Author weaves together people, places and ideas perfectly。

Mary Fabrizio,
Not bad for an Amazon first read but the story had major stumbling blocks for me。 The fact that she's telling these events to her adult children in first person just didn't work for me。 The flashbacks shouldn't have been written to them - that's just clumsy and awkward, especially withthe intimate parts。 Her voice was a little numb as well and not as compelling as it should be telling the great love stories of her life。 Oh, and the book is too dang long。 Not bad for an Amazon first read but the story had major stumbling blocks for me。 The fact that she's telling these events to her adult children in first person just didn't work for me。 The flashbacks shouldn't have been written to them - that's just clumsy and awkward, especially withthe intimate parts。 Her voice was a little numb as well and not as compelling as it should be telling the great love stories of her life。 Oh, and the book is too dang long。 。。。more

I knew just from the synopsis that this book would break my heart。 Oddly, I like when books do that because that means I lost myself in the characters, their lives, their story。 It becomes as real to me as if it’s happening to me or one of my friends。 This book will make you wish things could be different but not unlike your own life at times, you make the best decisions you can as life throws its curveballs at you。 Definitely giving The Light We Lost vibes and I LOVE that book。 I want to buy th I knew just from the synopsis that this book would break my heart。 Oddly, I like when books do that because that means I lost myself in the characters, their lives, their story。 It becomes as real to me as if it’s happening to me or one of my friends。 This book will make you wish things could be different but not unlike your own life at times, you make the best decisions you can as life throws its curveballs at you。 Definitely giving The Light We Lost vibes and I LOVE that book。 I want to buy the physical copy because I want to always keep it。 It will find itself on my reread shelf not too far in the future 🩵 。。。more

I read Ann Patchett's Tom Lake recently and loved it。 Do not read this after that。 If i hadn't I may have liked this book more? Here the structure of the book - Evie telling her children about her past - just did not ring true。 Are you really giving your daughter details of your sex life? Wow wow wow! So I was trying to decide between 4。5 and 5 stars because the first part of the book was kind of dragging for me but I’ve seen such good things about this book I knew it would pick up! And the last half didn’t disappoint! The last little bit was heart breaking good! My heart is broken and I feel like this story will stick with me for awhile…

i will always eat up a celeb/normie romance, found family-type book but my oh my was this an emotional roller coaster。 very few books/movies/shows have the power to make me randomly tear up in the hours/days after finishing it。 i’m still feeling the after effects!my only gripe is there was a lot happening in this and I think it felt a little busy at times (maybe to do with the narration method the author chose)。
Destany,
just do yourself a favor a read it。 This amazingly beautiful love story had me in a chokehold。 I finished it late at night。 I am definitely going to have a hang over from it。 The story was everything。

I don’t often find books I can’t or don’t want to put down, I couldn’t read this fast enough。 The characters are so well developed I felt I had known them for years。 Magic。 Definitely not your。 Typical rockstar love story。 I don’t think two people belonged together more than Carter and Evie。 I laughed, I cried, I even swooned a little ( who wouldn’t want a love story like this)?I can’t write any more without giving too much away。 You need to read it for yourself。 I am also not good at writing re I don’t often find books I can’t or don’t want to put down, I couldn’t read this fast enough。 The characters are so well developed I felt I had known them for years。 Magic。 Definitely not your。 Typical rockstar love story。 I don’t think two people belonged together more than Carter and Evie。 I laughed, I cried, I even swooned a little ( who wouldn’t want a love story like this)?I can’t write any more without giving too much away。 You need to read it for yourself。 I am also not good at writing reviews。 Buy the book, read it and get swept up in unexpected love, life, music and finding the one person you should be with 。。。more

This book took me for a RIDE。 Definitely will be enjoyed if you like Daisy Jones。 The story starts at the end and gives you snippets but I did not see it all coming。 4。5 stars because it did get a little bogged down in the middle, but it redeemed itself at the end!

I finished this book and had to sit with it a bit before writing a review。 I had a really hard time coming up with the words that can convey the emotions of this book。 It was beautiful, nostalgic, wistful, magical and heartbreaking。 There are so many things in this story that struck a chord with me。 And it was such an emotional look at the ripples in life that can come from one point in time decision。 The book definitely gave me classic Taylor Jenkins Reid vibes - especially Daisy Jones and the I finished this book and had to sit with it a bit before writing a review。 I had a really hard time coming up with the words that can convey the emotions of this book。 It was beautiful, nostalgic, wistful, magical and heartbreaking。 There are so many things in this story that struck a chord with me。 And it was such an emotional look at the ripples in life that can come from one point in time decision。 The book definitely gave me classic Taylor Jenkins Reid vibes - especially Daisy Jones and the Six。 The MMC is the lead singer of an alt rock band and a lot of the plot revolves around the music industry, touring, and a bands rise to fame。 I loved the music and creative aspect of these characters。 And I loved the emotion that just flowed through the whole story。 I’m not sure I can say much more without spoilers, but I definitely recommend this one and am so, so glad that I read it。 The only thing is wish is that I would have realized the audio version of this book is included as part of kindle unlimited。 I’m so curious about the audio recording and really believe this would make an amazing book to read with both audio and physical at the same time。 Thank you to @booksparks for the physical copy and to NetGalley for the eARC。 。。。more
